Admiral Mohab Mameesh, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal, Economic Zone announced that today the canal witnessed the transit of 57 ships with a total load of 3.2 million tons of container ships from both directions.
The north side witnessed the crossing of 34 ships carrying 1.7 million tons, the heaviest load belonging to a ship with the Hong Kong flag, WM WIDTH, carrying 152 thousand tons shipped from Turkey and heading to Saudi Arabia.
In addition, 23 ships crossed from the south ‘the New Canal’ carrying a total of 1.5 million tons. The heaviest load belonged to a Danish ship EVELYN MAERSK, carrying 173 thousand tons heading from China to Egypt.
