Admiral Mohab Mameesh: Signing an agreement for the establishment of a Crane Factory in the Russian industrial zone of the Suez Canal

The chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone, Mohab Mameesh, witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Russian Export Center and the largest factory in Russia for the manufacture of heavy cranes and port lifting equipment to establish a similar project in the Russian industrial zone of the Suez Canal.

 


A statement issued by the Authority on Thursday stated that Mohab Mameesh is completing his second tour of Saint Petersburg during his visit to Russia, where he met Sergei Pokrovsky, Executive Vice President of SMM, which is the most important Russian heavyweight crane industry, known for its huge global exports.

Mameesh also discussed with the Director General of the Russian company the cooperative mechanisms with the Economic Authority, in preparation for the establishment of a similar project within the Russian industrial zone, to serve the ports adjacent to the economic zone in the supply of heavy cranes and lifting equipment for the logistics services of containers and ships.

The Admiral’s delegation presented the investment opportunities available within the economic zone as well as the development of the region’s ports and logistics areas.

Sergei Pokrovsky presented the companies work and the countries to which the cranes are exported to. He voiced his desire to be in the Egyptian market, for the first time outside his country, to be the Russian industrial zone one of the most important stations.

During the meeting, Sergey Pokrovsky, representative of SMM, signed an agreement with the Russian Export Center to pump investments in the Russian industrial zone in East Port Said as soon as implementation work in the region begins.

After the meeting, the Admiral and the accompanying delegation toured the factory for the manufacture of cranes, and learnt about the latest technologies in the manufacture of cranes and heavy equipment, as well as special devices involved in the manufacture of control rooms in the command of big ships.
