Mohab Mameesh, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone, said that the State has a plan to develop all its ports, especially the port of Alexandria to be able to accommodate all types of ships for the benefit of National economy.
This was during his opening speech at the International Conference of Maritime Transport and Logistics “Marlog 8” on Sunday. The conference was organised by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria under the title “Towards Global Competitiveness in Maritime Transport – Future Directions for Port Investment”.
Mameesh added that the development of Egyptian ports is positively reflected on the movement of transport and trade in Suez Canal, pointing out that the development of the Suez Canal and Ain Shokhna ports has already started.
He praised Admiral Kamel Al-Wazir saying “I want to thank the political leadership for appointing my comrade in struggle, Kamel Al-Wazir as Minister of Transport; he is one of the reasons behind the success of the New Suez Canal.”
The International Conference of Maritime Transport and Logistics “Marlog 8” was attended by more than 43 speakers and experts in the field of Maritime transport, ports, transport, and Logistics from specialised universities, ports, Arab companies and International institutions from 15 different Arab and foreign countries.
