Admiral Mohab Mameesh, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone, announced that the northern sector of the region is witnessing the completion of construction of the seawater desalination plant, currently with a total capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters per day. In coordination with the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces the capacity will be increased to 250 thousand cubic meters per day after the completion of the first phase of the project.
Mameesh added that the first phase of the road plan of the northern sector in the West of Port Said will be completed with a length of 60 km and the second phase is 40 km bringing the total to 100km.
He confirmed that the presence of an existing treatment plant in East Port Said with a capacity of 500 cubic meters per day, and that the first phase of the seawater desalination plant, with a total capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters per day will be completed by 2020. The phase will be implemented urgently with a capacity of 25 thousand cubic meters per day with 4 life stations and irrigation systems next to the drainage network.
