Yesterday the chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone, Mohab Mameesh, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of intent by 8 Russian Companies with Andrei Slobnov, Executive Director of the Russian Export Center and in the presence of the Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade as the first agreement of Russian companies to participate in the Russian industrial zone in East Port Said. On the margin of an event organized by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade in Moscow yesterday under the title «Displaying export capabilities» of the Russian industrial zone.


Admiral Mohab Mameesh said that other companies are willing to participate in the Russian industrial zone and opening production lines in the fields of drugs, fertilizers, marine equipment, oil, gas and others. These companies, whether we signed with them or are in the process of signing agreements with them, will start implementing their projects in early 2020 within the framework of the first phase of the Russian industrial zone project in Egypt, covering an area of ​​5.25 kilometers square with investments of 6.9 billion dollars, and will be implemented over three phases over 13 years.

He added that the Russian industrial zone is a platform for Russian exports and a gateway to Russian products to Europe, Africa and the Middle East based on the location of the region in East Port Said and based on Egypt’s free trade agreements with various countries of the world. It is a great addition to the economic zone and will raise its ranks among regions of Economic development around the world.

On the other hand, Mameesh and his accompanying delegation left Moscow for Saint Petersburg, Russia’s second largest city, where he is visiting “CMM” and the Navy-Metallic factory on the fourth day of his tour of the Russian Federation.

It is noteworthy to mention that the eight companies that have signed memorandums of intent with the Russian Export Center for Investment in the Russian industrial zone are Hevel Solar Group, Russia’s largest integrated solar energy companies’, seeking to build large-scale solar plants, providing independent power producers (IPPs) for remote areas and industrial facilities. Also Schelkovo Agrohim Company, the largest Russian company in the field of fertilizer production and production of chemicals for plant protection, Metprom Company which works in the field of designing, establishing and managing projects and aims to establish a steel reinforcing factory in Egypt. There is also Agroldea LLC Company one of the leading companies in Agricultural Engineering, Eco Technical Center Company for the production of fertilizers from organic waste, desert land reclamation, Enor Gomera Company specialized in the manufacturing of electrical supplies, cable production and another two companies in the field of irrigation systems and integrated solutions.
