On Wednesday Admiral Mohab Mameesh, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone received a high-ranking delegation from the Egyptian satellite company NileSat.
Major General Baker Shamsa, head of the delegation, in the presence of a number of leaders of the Commission, met Admiral Mohab Mameesh at the Authority’s Simulation and Maritime Training Center in Ismailia.
In his speech, The Admiral welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of the company’s role in enhancing Egypt’s position in the field of satellites, which began in the nineties when it launched the first satellite in the Arab region, in addition to its role in keeping up with technology’s rapid pace.
The Chairman of the Authority clarified that the Suez Canal is a pure Egyptian project that has won the support of the political leadership and has been surrounded by the Egyptian Nation in an inspiring national union which has proved without a doubt the capability of Egyptians. He stressed that the recent giant national projects adopted by the Egyptian state at various levels is the way to return to political and economic leadership.
Admiral Mohab Mameesh added that taking advantage of the unique geographical location of the canal and the development of the surrounding area has become a tangible reality after taking serious steps to encourage investments in the region by working on two aspects. The first of which is to sustain current investments by solving problems with investors as well as attracting new investors through promotional tours, signing protocols and collaboration agreements with development partners.
During the visit, the delegation witnessed a number of documentaries documenting the canals history and the succeeding generations. The audience listened to a presentation about the Suez Canal project and the Canal Development Project showing its leading position in serving Global trade movement and investment opportunities available within the development project.
The team then invited the delegation to take a cruise in the new Suez Canal to see the size of the achievements on the ground. At the end of the visit, the team presented Major General Bakr Shmeis, head of the delegation, with the new Suez Canal Shield. In return Major General Bakr Shmeis presented Admiral Mohab Mamesh with the company’s shield.
