Suez Canal participates in World Autism Day celebrations

Admiral Mohab Mameesh, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone, announced the participation of the Authority in the celebrations of the World Autism Day by lighting a number of historic and major building in blue on Monday and Tuesday. The Authority lit the Ismailia Guidance Building, the Suez Canal Movement building, and Port Said al-Quba Building; they also launched sirens on ships crossing the Suez Canal. This was in conjugation with landmarks around the world illuminating bright blue lights for Autism awareness.

 


He stressed that the care of people with special needs is the top priority in the Authority’s medical agenda. This led to the opening of the Ismailia Special Care Center to provide medical, psychological and behavioral care for children with special abilities and autistic patients. He assured their right to a normal life by spreading awareness and training parents so that they can be reintegrated once again into society. He announced the Authority’s intention to establish another branch of the Center in Port Said Governorate, which will be completed during the current year.
