Mohab Mameesh, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Head of the Economic Zone, announced the launching of the first vocational and technical training center in the Economic Zone in Ain Sukhna within days. The investments of this training center exceed 22 million euros represented by the Egyptian-German Technical Training Academy. The aforementioned Academy is an entity that represents the alliance between Siemens AG and German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development represented by the German Agency for International Cooperation in coordination with the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

Suez Canal Breaks Record in Number of Ships and Loads

June 29, 2019
Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Head of the Economic Zone, Admiral Mohab Mameesh, announced that the movement of vessels through the Suez Canal broke record in numbers and loads during the past three days. Mameesh explained that the number of ships passing through the Canal on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday reached 173 ones, with a total load of 11 million and 800 thousand tons. The average daily crossing registered 58 ships with an average daily cargo of three million and 900 thousand tons.

Suez Canal Records Highest Transfer to State Treasury in its History

The Suez Canal breaks records by transferring the highest financial rate to the Public State Treasury in its history.

In its statement, the Sector of Economic Authorities of Finance Ministry declared that the Suez Canal has provided the State Treasury with EGP 72.2 billion in the 2018/2019 fiscal year. The figure is historically the highest one according to the statement.

The Suez Canal records a record of 65 ships with 5 million tons

Admiral Mohab Mameesh, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and the General Authority of the Canal, said that on Wednesday the Canal’s navigation recorded a new record in the number of ships passing and total tonnage with a passage of 65 vessels with a total load of 5 million tons. 29 vessels crossed from the North with a total loads of 1.8 million tons, while 36 ships crossed from the south the new shipping route of the canal with loads of 3.2 million tons.

On Monday Admiral Mohab Mameesh, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and the General Authority of the Canal, met a high-ranking delegation of ambassadors from 20 African countries, accompanied by representatives of the diplomatic team of the different embassies in Cairo. The delegation was under the chairmanship of Ambassador Mamadou Lebrange, Ambassador of the State of Cameroon, Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps, and Ambassador Maher Al-Adawi, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, and in the presence of a number of leaders of the Authority. New record in the loads and numbers of Suez Canal vessels

April 9, 2019
Admiral Mohab Mameesh, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone, said that on Tuesday the canal’s traffic recorded a new record for the number of transhipment of ships with a total of 62 vessels in both directions, with a total load of 4 million tons. The number of vessels passing through the north reached 41 vessels with loads of 2.5 million tons, while 21 vessels crossed from the south of the New Canal with loads of 1.5 million tons. The canal also saw the crossing of 5 giant vessels with more than 150,000 tons of cargo with loads ranging from 100 to 150 thousand tons per vessel.

Mohab Mameesh: The establishment of desalination plant has been completed

Admiral Mohab Mameesh, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone, announced that the northern sector of the region is witnessing the completion of construction of the seawater desalination plant, currently with a total capacity of 150 thousand cubic meters per day. On Monday Admiral Mohab Mameesh, chairman of the Suez Canal Authority and Suez Canal economic zone in the presence of Admiral Osama Rabeaa, vice-chairperson of the Suez Canal Authority, honored 302 members of the Suez Canal Leadership and retired workers from various departments. The ceremony was held at Ismailia Communication and Training Center. It was attended by a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Suez Canal Authority, its leaders and employees of the Authority Employee Insurance Fund.
